The Summer Strings and its partner program Summer Winds provide a unique opportunity to string and wind students of all abilities to play together in a combined ensemble.

Summer Strings is a program of weekly workshops designed to help middle school and high school students maintain their playing skills over the summer. Students are placed into either the intermediate or advanced group, depending on levels of ability and experience. There are eight rehearsals leading to one concert at the end of the summer. Students are welcomed and encouraged to attend all rehearsals, but most families have travel and vacation plans at some point during the summer. As a result, attendance is not mandatory.
